Andrew Baker ’15

Outstanding Young Alumnus Award

Andrew Baker is a digital marketing leader for Autobell Car Wash. In addition, he and his wife, Emily, founded Prohibition Candle Company in 2022. This small business of creating handcrafted soy candles, inspired by craft cocktails, has been a great opportunity to leverage Andrew’s skills to grow a hobby into a business. 

Andrew is passionate about serving his community. He is president of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Alumni Council, served as president of the Young Alumni Board of Directors and was the recipient of a 10 Under Ten award from the UNC Charlotte Young Alumni Chapter. Outside of the University, he is the game day announcer for the YMCA Miracle League program, founder of Dream to Achieve Bowling and is actively involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Charlotte.

Andrew received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from UNC Charlotte.

One of Andrew’s alumni peers said it best, “When it comes to 49er pride, and more importantly, 49er purpose, I can’t think of any names that top ‘Andrew Baker.’ He tirelessly invests in the University and unselfishly goes out of his way to see other Niners be celebrated for their efforts.”
