Tiffani Teachey ’03, ’05

From co-founding the Charlotte Professional Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, to serving on the board of the Black Political Caucus of Mecklenburg County and her leadership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Tiffany Teachey is the epitome of giving back to the causes she loves, including UNC Charlotte.

Tiffani is a driving force for alumni engagement in The William States Lee College of Engineering. She serves on various boards including the College of Engineering Alumni Council and Advisory board, Charlotte Chamber Young Professionals and the Sterling Math and Science Foundation. In 2018, Tiffani received the UNC Charlotte Black Alumni Chapter Leadership Excellence in STEM and was also the recipient of the UNCF Maya Angelou Women Who Leads Award.

Tiffani represents her profession and degrees with a dedication and civic commitment bar none. She also works tirelessly to energize the next generation of engineers. A volunteer for Engineering and Technology Explorers, she seeks to inspire young minds who are interested in STEM fields and careers. Tiffani received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from the Lee College of Engineering.

Tiffani is a forward-thinking engineer with a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic plans to drive organization goals while cultivating an environment of excellence. Currently, she serves as a senior mechanical engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company in the Global Product and Services, Design Engineering/Plant Modifications unit. She began her career at Electric Power Research Institute in 2004 as a project engineer and went on to work on the License Basis Verification Project at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant.
