mission statement
The mission of the UNC Charlotte GOLD Alumni Network is to encourage active participation in the life of UNC Charlotte, with primary emphasis on our GOLD Alumni (Graduates Of the Last Decade) and current UNC Charlotte seniors.
The network exists to serve the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association, the University, and our alumni and friends. Furthermore, we shall enhance GOLD alumni participation through networking, socials and connecting with current UNC Charlotte seniors.

There are several committees to choose from depending on what matters most to you. Committees are based around one-year terms, while still providing flexibility for everything life throws at you. Committee Descriptions
Niner Athletics: Partnering with the Alumni Engagement office, this committee shares their passion for Charlotte Athletics with their fellow GOLD Alumni. From our FANdemonium watch parties to tailgates and games – this committee is all about Charlotte sports!
Social: Designed to help Niners network and meet other Niners, members of this committee will create opportunities for GOLD Alumni to get social in the Queen City.
Niner Nation Week: Niner Nation Week, our annual celebration of all things Charlotte, occurs each fall and culminates with Homecoming Weekend. Members of this committee collaborate with the Niner Nation Week university steering committee to increase involvement by our GOLD alumni during the week.
Niner Nation Gives: Our annual fundraising initiative, Niner Nation Gives has raised millions of dollars for student scholarships and programs. This committee will help educate their fellow GOLD alumni on the importance of philanthropy and help raise money for great causes.
Niner Nation Serves: Niner Nation Serves unites Niners in the spirit of volunteerism by providing a range of service projects supporting the university and greater Charlotte communities. Committee members will help plan a signature GOLD Network volunteer opportunity during Niner Nation Serves, along with other opportunities throughout the year.
Senior Events: This committee works in close collaboration with the Alumni Engagement office to plan our Senior Send-Off events each semester and have a presence at other engagement opportunities for graduates at events like Commencement Kick-off and Commencement ceremonies.
10 Under Ten Awards: The 10 Under Ten Awards recognize ten GOLD Alumni who are making an impact in their field and community. Members of this committee help select the recipients and plan the ceremony recognizing their incredible achievements.
10 under ten awards
The purpose of the 10 Under Ten Awards is to recognize and spotlight UNC Charlotte alumni who have graduated within the past ten years. Top candidates who will receive consideration are not only shaping what’s next in their professional career, but are also heavily involved in the community through volunteerism and philanthropy, creating an impact in the community they live.
Nominations for the 2025 10 Under Ten Awards will open in Summer 2025.
