December 5, 2024 – Women and Men in the Workplace
Our first event is Niner Knowledge: Women and Men in the Workplace – Science-Based Solutions to a More Equitable Future. During this lunchtime webinar, Dr. Jill Yavorsky will discuss how men’s and women’s goals are often aligned in the workplace — that men and women alike want more more opportunities for career advancement; better work-life balance and job quality; less burn-out and stress, and so on.
Dr. Yavorsky will address what are the persistent barriers that women face in advancing in the labor market and how these barriers undermine fairness and job quality for all workers. Dr. Yavorsky will also discuss science-based solutions for jumpstarting gender progress and creating more equitable organizations for everyone.
February 25, 2025 – Who You Are? Opportunities & Challenges for Biometric Recognition
During this lunchtime webinar, Dr. Stephanie Schuckers will delve into the world of cyber security and show us how biometric recognition plays a daily role in our lives and helps determine the legitimacy of our identity for systems like banking and government benefits. Dr. Schuckers will discuss the challenges and opportunities we face with biometric recognition and research into the security, performance, ethics and fairness of the systems that use such recognition.

Niner Knowledge: Leadership Science in Action will engage attendees in a lightning round of mini-presentations on hot-topics in leadership from five faculty experts in the Center for Leadership Science.
