Official 49er Ring
The UNC Charlotte official 49er ring is an emblem of academic achievement and serves as a tangible reminder of a student’s memories at UNC Charlotte. Created exclusively for Niner Nation by Jostens, its well-known symbols instantly designate the wearer as a proud 49er.
Designed for and by students and 49er alumni, the official ring captures the very essence of life on and around the Niner Nation. Each symbol that adorns this ring was carefully chosen to capture the pride and passion of UNC Charlotte.
Wear it with pride! As a constant reminder of your achievements and the tradition of our alma mater, we are proud to offer you the official ring of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte!
Ring proceeds benefit Alumni Association programs.
Ring Eligibility
The following are eligible to receive an Official 49er Ring:
- Alumni and undergraduate students who have completed at least 60 credit hours
- Graduate students who have completed at least 18 credit hours

- Visit the campus bookstore on campus to view the official ring
- Attend an official Ring Week, held 1-2 times each semester
Order an Official Ring
All eligible students or alumni can order a ring online, call Jostens at 1-800-854-7464 or visit the Jostens table during Ring Week, held each semester at the campus bookstore on campus. During Ring Week, Jostens representatives will be on hand to answer questions and help with ring orders.
Ring Ceremony
All students who purchase a ring by the October 31, 2025 deadline are eligible to participate in the Fall 2025 Ring Ceremony on December 11, 2025. Eligible students will receive official invitations after the order deadline.
Warranty
Your ring will always look as good as the day you bought it and is protected by a Lifetime Limited Warranty which provides the following benefits for the life of your ring:
- Resizing performed without charge
- Cleaning and refinishing performed without charge
- If a student’s degree letters, date of graduation or curriculum change, Jostens will replace their college ring with the correct graduation year and/or degree. This is free of charge provided that the school remains the same.
- In addition to the Lifetime Limited Warranty, all Jostens jewelry products include the Jostens Standard Jewelry Protection Plan and consumers have the option to upgrade the plan to an Extended Jewelry Protection Plan.
Receiving Your Official 49er Ring
Students who purchase their ring during an official fall or spring Ring Week will receive an invitation to the Official 49er Ring Ceremony.
At the ceremony, All participants will receive their purchased rings and will have the opportunity to join in the tradition of dipping it in Norm’s miner pan to symbolize their lasting connection to Niner Nation. Those who have purchased a ring but cannot attend the ceremony will receive a follow-up email with how to pick-up their ring.
Alumni who order a ring during an official Ring Week and wish to participate in the Official 49er Ring Ceremony should RSVP for the event as early as possible. You must be registered to participate in the ceremony.
